Kirk Tours and Transportation was started by Marva Kirk in 1990. After a visit to the Moore and Randolph county potters, she told her husband it was a shame that more people didn’t have the opportunity to visit “Pottery Country.” That spark ignited Marva’s business vision: To help visitors and residents discover the array of wonderful things right here in our backyard. Now, 14 years later, Kirk Tours offers premiere, customized tour services and transportation to both local and adjoining regions –. Additionally, Kirk Tours offers pre-planned “designer” tours such as an upcoming, 3 days-2night “Washington, DC Trip”.

Not long ago, a prospective client, who was responsible for the activities of a large group of non-golfing visitors, asked Marva if people ever hugged her at the end of their tours. When Marva said, “Yes, all the time,” the woman told her, “You have my business!”

A long time resident of Aberdeen, Marva and her husband Tommy are the parents of four children, Nathaniel, twins Heather and Holly, and Emiline. She has the distinction of serving as the first female Deputy United States Marshal in North Carolina. Marva was a member of the US Army Reserve, and is tireless in church and community service.

Marva remarked that her only problem is that the word “No!” is not her in vocabulary. Coupled with her optimistic outlook and caring nature, her “can-do” attitude may explain why she is so successful!
