sandhillsDig.com has an exciting announcement - we now offer CLASSIFIEDS! That's right, we were tired of having to use the Raleigh or Fayetteville networks on Craigslist (not so fun to drive 45 min. only to find out it's not the lawn mower you thought it was) and, after a suggestion from some of our readers, we set to work and are excited to launch sandhillsDig.com CLASSIFIEDS as one more way to help "keep it local." The best thing about sandhillsDig.com CLASSIFIEDS -- it's FREE to list and FREE to browse! So clean out your closets (or in our case, the garage), be creative about the services your job provides, sell your house, your car, that wedding gift that is still in the box...you get the idea. And you never know what treasures you may find right here in your own neighborhood. sandhillsDig.com CLASSIFIEDS offers the following main categories (and over 100 subcategories) for you to search or list your stuff: From what we're hearing the first ever Palustris Festival was a huge success. Events throughout were well attended as our community celebrated & showcased our local influence on the arts - visual, literary & performing.
Now, those of us that attended Palustris need to share our thoughts and take the festival's online survey. The obvious purpose of the survey is to find out the highlights of Palustris as well as the things that can be improved. So, take just a few minutes and fill out your survey today.
sandhillsDig.com wants to thank all of you that continue to support our local restaurants, shops, businesses & community events!
The Sly Fox Yesterday, we lunched on chicken and manchego croquettes with roasted red pepper coulis and shepherd’s pie at what will soon be The Sly Fox in Southern Pines. sandhillsDig.com was fortunate to be “in the way” as owner, Chef Mark Elliott, Sly Fox Executive Chef Dan Piotrowicz and General Manager Andy Heisinger tested out some of their latest pub fare twists on innocent bystanders (landscapers, construction workers, etc.) But no one complained. We were also able to get some answers to the questions everyone has been asking... Where is this new restaurant located? Last week we took Nina to Dave's Dirty Dogs, a new (and brilliant!) business in Pinehurst. Dave, who also owns the laundry mat next door, renovated the other half of the building into a save-your-home-from-the-mess place for people to actually have FUN washing their dogs! We sure did. And Nina was thankful for the free bones and head scratches. The rates are reasonable and if you don't want to roll up your sleeves, the friendly staff will wash your dog for you. We'll let the pictures (and a short video) show you around...
Step one: bring in your dirty dog
Step two: walk the plank (just the dog) We thought we'd post a few of our own "Sandhills Snow Days" photos. Nina, our adopted dog, was the star of the snow shoot. She was trying to win the Swank gift certificate all for herself, but we told her that just wouldn't be fair. Send in your photos (or video!) - there's still time! Trying to compete for the winter Olympics... Out playing with her grandma... Showing off for the camera. Email your favorite "Sandhills Snow Days" photos to contact@sandhillsDig.com and we'll post a gallery of the best on our blog! Best photo wins a $15 gift certificate to Swank Coffee Shoppe & Handmade Market in downtown SoPines! We'll announce a winner next week. Let's see 'em! |
