First Friday Southern Pines is back this Friday night with a horn-driven funk band named Hot Politics. Formed out of Greensboro, NC, Hot Politics loves an audience and is well known for getting crowds on their feet dancing with their original funk music. As always, it all gets started at 5pm so come early (with friends and of course, your children) and stake out your favorite spot next to the Sunrise Theater on Broad Street in downtown Southern Pines. The Carolina Brewery will be offering beer on tap and the weather locally is forecasted to be perfect...sunny with a high in the low 80's.

Dear fellow sandhillsDig.com readers,
I have been involved, over the years, as a volunteer in a number of capacities at Penick Village, a retirement community in Southern Pines where my mother now lives. It’s a wonderful place where residents and their lives are celebrated daily in every possible way. My mom absolutely loves it.
Join many locals and visitors alike this Friday evening, December 4, for the 2009 Village of Pinehurst Christmas Tree Lighting and Festivities. Entertainment starts at 5:30pm with caroling followed by the lighting of the village tree. Plus, we hear that Santa will be visiting from the North Pole. Bring your friends and family for this annual Pinehurst tradition! For more info on local events, visit our calendar at sandhillsDig.com! |
