sandhillsDig.com was recently in downtown Southern Pines and noticed a good looking couple being whisked away in...a pedicab!!! Naturally, we wanted to get the scoop and tell our readers about this fun and enviromentally friendly local business. The Sly Fox is open...we've already been for lunch AND dinner. Here's what we know: There is an amazing outdoor "beer garden" that will be THE place to be once this heatwave we are having goes away... I call a chair near the fountain (you can't see it from this photo but it is over to the right)... And bring me one of these... Inside, the decor is simple but unique. I love the British flag curtain.
My mother-in-law, Carolyn, taught me an important method for exactly this type of evening. Call your husband shortly before he gets off work and say, “Well, what would you like for dinner tonight?” And after he replies, you simply say: “Sounds great, just pick it up on your way home!” Thanks mom. No cooking, cleaning or make-up tonight. We like to see all of our options before we decide. Check out the sandhillsDig.com restaurant guide to help you make your dine in or take out choices. Tonight’s take out choice = Vito’s Ristorante & Pizzeria Last night, we decided on Ten-Ya in the Village of Pinehurst. Ten-Ya has a new menu so we took our time to see what would catch our eye. We started by sharing Edamame and for our meal, I went conservative with the authentic Hibachi Chicken and Anna picked out a roll from their new sushi menu which has a motto: "Never Try, Never Know." Our server recommended the Kabuto Roll which was delicious - spicy tuna, white tuna, cream cheese & caviar flash fried with spicy sauce. Our favorite thing? Enjoying creative sushi rolls (like a meal you might find in Raleigh or D.C.), and then stepping out the front door into the quaint Village of Pinehurst - home. Ten-Ya is running a sushi special for the month of November - Buy one, Get one half off. Enjoy any sushi roll at the regular price and get a second roll of equal or lesser value for half price. FYI - Ten-Ya has another location in downtown Southern Pines |
