Dr. Edward C. Monroe was born and raised in Moore County and felt a strong pull to return home to begin his family and cosmetic dental practice in Southern Pines. Dr. Monroe graduated from Pinecrest High School and received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Surgery and graduated with Honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry.

Dr. Monroe completed a General Practice Residency at the East Carolina School of Medicine in Greenville, NC where he gained firsthand experience in the delivery of advanced dental services and the care of the medically compromised dental patient. Although dentists are not required to complete residencies in order to practice general dentistry, Dr. Monroe felt that this experience would be invaluable in his career.

Upon completion of his formal dental education and General Practice Residency, Dr. Monroe practiced in Charlotte, NC for several years before returning home to Moore County to open the doors to his own family practice in Southern Pines. Dr. Monroe has based his practice on a solid commitment to advanced preventative and cosmetic dentistry and he and his staff strive to serve the community with unparalleled care.
